Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was raised on Onondaga Hill, Syracuse , NY. We have been in Oswego for the last 29 years , where we have raised our 3 children. I have always liked to be active and work out, mostly walking over the last several years. We have an historic home that we love to renovate and makeover. I have been a Dental Hygienist for the last 30 years.
What brought you to the Bikram yoga practice?
The last year , my shoulders have really bothered me, to the point of interrupting my sleep. I have always had regular chiropractic adjustments for the last 22 years, but it wasn't helping my shoulder pian. My coworker, Terri Hourigan, has been practicing Bikram for 2 years , and I finally decided to try it. I was hooked after my first class.
How often do you practice?
I plan to be in the studio 5 times a week, but 4 is my minimum.
What specific physical issues, if any, did you have before taking your first class? What changes have you seen/felt in your body- overall physical and general well- being?
This yoga practice has given me so much energy and stamina. I am no longer exhausted after work, and danced the night away at a wedding recently. My husband will verify that my disposition is better, I have much more inner peace.
What are the greatest benefits of your practice? How has this practice changed your health and life? Any emotional or other benefits?
Bikram yoga's greatest benefit has been finding myself again, and an unbelievable feeling of contentment daily!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I have never looked forward to doing any exercising, but I really look forward to my Bikram classes. All the teachers, Sandy, Debbie, Judy, Eunsong, and Marina, have taught me so much, with patience and smiles. I can't imagine my life without it now!!
