Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I came from China 16 years ago as an exchange student. I received my bachelor's and master's degrees from SUNY Oswego. I met my husband in school and we started our family here. After being a stayhome mom for 6 years, I started my new career as a home stager. I love to travel, and have been to more than 20 countries so far.
What brought you to the Bikram yoga practice?
I heard about Bikram yoga in year 2008 and wanted to try it so bad. But with two little kids at home I wasn't able to at that time. Finally I started this summer.
How often do you practice?
I try to practice Birkram at least 4 times a week. I can not live without Bikram more than 3 days.
What specific physical issues, if any, did you have before taking your first class? What changes have you seen/felt in your body- overall physical and general well- being?
I didn't have any physical issues when I started Bikram. In general, I do feel I have more energy . I lost some weight after the 30 day challange as well.
What are the greatest benefits of your practice? How has this practice changed your health and life? Any emotional or other benefits?
The benefits of my practice are both physical and emotional changes. My mother passed away in year 2005. I was really depressed, stressed and anxious all the time. I started to practice yoga to ease my problem. After 8 years of practicing yoga regularly, I still was not be able to focus on my practice. I tried medication and it doesn't work. Birkram yoga turely changed it. It helped to ease my stress and anxiety. I was be able to focus on my practice every single mintue. I feel wonderful and much happier than before.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I am so thankful for the beautiful studio which is only 5 mintues from my house. The teachers are wonderful here. This is the only place I can find my inner peace in the whole world. Thank you so much.
